"Tinychat is an amazing site. I had fun with it. Even though the premium subscriptions are really pricey, you don't really need to pay to actually use this site. Their paid services are just there if you are feeling extra or if you just have money to burn. Other than that, I can join rooms, talk to people, and do things just fine. I also like how the chatrooms are topical. Like, dude, there are rooms for makeup, boys, fashion. But there are also rooms for parental abuse, depression, and sex. Like, anything you can think of under the sun is there. Plus, like, I really love the way Tinychat looks. I feel connected to people even if I am alone in my room."

The Tinychat app
★★★★★ 3.0/5
- Available on iOS and Android
- Free to download on Google Play and App Store
- A convenient complement for on the go users
- Neat yet youthful user interface
- Targeted to teens and young adult
Tinychat retains to its theme of making something old anew with its vibrant mobile app. Available on iOS and Android mobile, this site brings chat rooms and video conferencing to the younger generation with the youthful way it presents itself and its features to their target audience.
The background is artsy and vibrant with its usage of funky, bright colours. It does "fun" so well in a way that Tinychat's mobile app does not come across as cheap or immature. Although the user interface is not that simple, opting for a fancier look compared to simple usability, it is still fairly intuitive for their young market.
In fact, Tinychat drives the point that it is made for the teens and young adults instead of the, well, older adults by creating a colourful space for them which they can enjoy and express themselves.
Our field test
★★★★★ 3.0/5
"I like Tinychat. Not because I can chat with people but because I can listen to them. It's safe to say that I am an introvert so it's fun seeing those people talking without me being obliged to engage in a conversation. I can leave whenever I want to. I don't have to pay for anything to join a group chat. It's just all fun."

Design & usability
In a seamless way of incorporating the 90s element of chat rooms and modern aesthetic, Tinychat is a satisfying sight to behold for the younger demographic. It is modern yet remains charmingly nostalgic. Fun but not cheap and gimmicky. This site screams "youth" to everyone who will deign to visit.
The navigation on the website is much more simple and minimalistic compared to the pop art feels of its mobile app counterpart. However, both the website and the mobile app's artsy buttons, texts, and design layouts still retain its integrity and intuitive navigation. Although Tinychat has a lot of elements in it, never did it look noisy and cluttered.
Special features
TinyChat has some special features to offer. Check out some of them below and maximize your group chat experience.
Finding people 1
Live DirectoryFree
Live Directory is where you see live chat rooms. The chat rooms featured are the ones most promoted, near your location, and people who have the most "gifts." To be featured in the Live Directory is one of the milestones in this website. Once you are on the top spot, this increases your popularity even more.
Showing interest 1
Virtual StorePaid
You can buy virtual gifts for yourself, your current friends, and people you may want to meet in the "Virtual Store." The store sells themed gifts ranging from seasonal ones such as Halloween to food and drinks, gold and jewels, animal friends, and so many more. You can even buy membership upgrades here. You can use money, Tinychat coins, and points for purchasing items. The more gifts you buy and receive, the higher your social status is.
Final results
4.0very good
“Blending the old with the new, Tinychat brings back chat rooms and makes it appealing for younger audiences in a retrofuturistic manner. The site does not only look smart and aesthetically pleasing, but it also has niche topics specifically targeting the "Instagram generation" such as makeup, sexuality, games, music, and so much more. You can join any room and participate in the group conversation right away, whether in a video, audio, chat, or all three. Even if you are not inclined to talk to others, you can simply just listen in to other people talking--almost like a podcast. There is enough usability for free accounts. In fact, the one thing we've noticed about this site is how it is actually very generous with its features. The three premium packages are only there to give you the "luxury" experience such as seeing broadcasts in HD fullscreen, Tinychat coins, and badges among other things. Aside from that, you can essentially access the chat rooms of the site with no problem. Tinychat relies heavily on Flashplayer which makes the video broadcasts and webcam integration really seamless. It does not hurt that this chat site's user interface is so easy to learn, too. If somehow, after all that, you are still not completely sold on Tinychat, you can check out other Dating Apps here!”

Tinychat FAQ
How do I report inappropriate content?
The best way to report inappropriate content on Tinychat is to tap the "Flag" icon over that person's webcam. This will immediately alert the moderation team to investigate and take appropriate action. Also, note that reporting someone will not automatically ban that person from the site. The team will investigate first and, if needed, take actions.
How can I contact this site?
For technical or customer support, you may click the chat icon on your lower right-hand corner or email Tinychat at support@tinychat.com
For business or partnership inquiries, you may contact this email address: info@tinychat.com
I forgot my username and password. What do I do?
Go to the username and password recovery page on Tinychat. You will be sent an email with your username at the top and a link to reset your password at the bottom. If you just need your username, you can ignore the link. If you need to reset your password, click the link and you will receive a second email.
What is a Camera Ban?
Camera bans are issued when a user is violating Tinychat's Terms of Service. These bans can last for 72 hours after they are issued and cannot be removed before they expire. The site does not tolerate adult content.
Why has a room been closed?
Room closures are issued by a Tinychat Administrator for a number of different reasons. Some of the reasons are, but not limited to:
-
The room had no moderators assigned and the room was observed to be breaking the Terms of Service.
-
The room had moderators assigned but they are not controlling the room or are encouraging ToS violations.
-
The room name has an offensive or inappropriate word in it.
-
The room was made solely to violate the ToS.
Tinychat won't let me use my Mac's iSight to broadcast.
This is because you have some kind of third-party camera software installed such as Google video chat, Manycam, Webcammax, etc. Uninstall these programs and then do the following:
-
Open Finder and select your main HD.
-
Find the “Library” folder and click enter.
-
Find the “Quicktime” folder and click enter.
-
Delete any “.component” files that have something to do with the programs listed above
-
Close and reopen your browser
-
Go to any Tinychat room and try to broadcast
Every time I go to a Tinychat room, it shows a black screen with a Tinychat logo.
This is almost always caused by an issue with your Adobe Flash Player. You must make sure that your flash player is updated. You can also check your browser for updates. If the issue persists, contact support@tinychat.com.
Which web browser should I use for Tinychat?
The moderators highly recommend using Firefox or Google Chrome. However, no matter what browser you use, Tinychat always runs a little bit better on an updated browser.
Where can I get Tinychat coins?
You can get coins by upgrading to Tinychat Extreme or Gold accounts. You are given coins every month your subscription successfully renews. You can also buy them.
Does Tinychat have a mobile app?
Yes, it does. You can download it for free. It is available in both iOS and Android.
